New Food Allergy Guidelines

In December 2010 the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases released new guidelines for handling food allergies. The guidelines in previous years have been geared towards allergy specialists, leaving behind pediatricians, family practitioners, and other medical professionals who often deal with food allergies. These guidelines will hopefully clarify techniques and practices commonly used to analyze, determine and treat food allergies. This is the link to NPR's "Talk of the Nation"discussion regarding the new guidelines.
